Four programs, one mission: sustainable communities

Each program tackles a real, everyday challenge with a practical, eco-friendly solution — and together they improve livelihoods, health and the environment.

Food & Nutrition

Eco-Friendly Kitchen Farming

We help households grow their own nutritious vegetables using recycled materials such as plastic bottles and sacks. It's a low-cost, high-impact way to turn waste into food — right outside the kitchen door.

  • Kitchen gardens built in households in Bweyogerere, cutting grocery bills and market trips.
  • Fresh, healthy vegetables improving family nutrition.
  • Plastic waste recycled into productive planters — composting and organic soil prep included.

Menstrual Hygiene & Dignity

Period poverty forces millions of Ugandan girls to miss school. Through our "Keep Her in School" project we distribute reusable sanitary pads and menstrual cups, and run open awareness sessions that break the stigma around menstruation.

  • 2,000 reusable pads distributed to 1,000 girls across Kiboga, Mayuge & Rakai.
  • Menstrual cups distributed to girls around Makerere University.
  • Girls taught to make their own reusable pads — a skill that lasts a lifetime.

Environment

Waste Management

We turn a pollution problem into a resource. By recycling plastic bottles, sacks and other waste into planters and productive tools, we cut litter in our communities while growing food and income.

  • Waste-to-resource solutions that reduce plastic pollution.
  • Recycled materials repurposed for gardening and small enterprise.
  • Cleaner, healthier neighbourhoods and a lighter footprint.

Youth

Green Skills for Youth

We equip young people with hands-on, environmentally conscious skills so they can become resilient, innovative and community-focused agents of change. In June 2025, our team trained at the Green Skills Hub with partner Touch The Slum, marking World Environment Day.

  • Practical eco-farming, composting and recycling techniques.
  • Turning eco-skills into small-scale income-generating activities.
  • Youth mentorship and community-based climate action.
