Eco-Friendly Initiatives

Empowering individuals and communities through impactful, eco-friendly programs that address today’s most pressing challenges

Our Initiatives

Waste Glow: Eco-friendly lighting solutions

Waste Glow is a climate initiative that makes solar powered lanterns out of solid waste materials such as plastics, electronics and textile.
Most people in rural areas use kerosene lamps and candles, which lead to carbon emissions and toxic fumes. Therefore, these solar-powered lanterns replace the harmful kerosene lamps and candles which significantly reduce carbon emissions and eliminate toxic fumes.
On the other hand, over 28,000 tons of solid waste are generated every month in Kampala, the capital city of Uganda. And over 600 tons of plastic is generated daily with less than 10% being collected and recycled.
Under Waste Glow, we collect and recycle solid waste which is used to make solar powered lanterns to provide an ecofriendly source of energy in rural areas of Uganda.

Kitchen Farming: Cultivating Self-Sufficiency

Our Kitchen Farming initiative empowers communities to grow their own food using sustainable methods. By providing training and resources, we help individuals achieve food security, improve nutrition, and foster economic independence. This initiative not only supports livelihoods but also encourages eco-friendly agricultural practices that benefit the environment.

Menstrual Hygiene: Eco-Friendly Menstrual Products

Access to menstrual hygiene is crucial for the health and dignity of women and girls. Our initiative focuses on providing eco-friendly menstrual products, education, and support to those in need. By addressing menstrual health, we aim to break the stigma, reduce school absenteeism, and promote gender equality.

Waste Management: Creating Cleaner, Greener Communities

Effective waste management is essential for a sustainable environment. Our initiative promotes responsible waste disposal, recycling, and community cleanup efforts. By educating and mobilizing communities, we aim to reduce pollution, conserve natural resources, and foster a culture of environmental stewardship
