Our narrative unfolds from a visionary inception in 2021, where a shared dream among passionate individuals, initially colleagues in a Social Work class at Makerere University, ignited the creation of impactful programs addressing pressing issues like refugee welfare, support for survivors of female genital mutilation, and various other humanitarian causes.

In the nascent stages, our team engaged in exploration, brainstorming diverse organizational avenues and strategies to bring about meaningful change in the lives of those in need. However, it was the deep-seated commitment to sustainable change and the urgent call to uplift communities that crystallized our collective decision as we entered the New Year.

In 2022, Hands for You Foundation underwent a profound transformation, pivoting towards a comprehensive 3-cycle model of eco-friendly initiatives. This model not only aligns with our team’s core values but also promises a holistic approach to improving livelihoods sustainably, with a strong emphasis on addressing Climate Change. The three pillars of our model encompass kitchen farming, menstrual hygiene, and waste management.

This pivotal decision marked the commencement of rigorous organizational work and operations for Hands for You Foundation. With unwavering dedication, we embarked on a journey to effect positive and enduring change in the lives of individuals and communities. Our commitment to eco-friendly initiatives mirrors our belief in establishing a harmonious balance between human prosperity and environmental responsibility.

As we reflect on our journey, we take immense pride in the strides we have taken and the impact we’ve already made.
